People don't have a
right to live wherever they want. Private property, especially private residence, is still a
foundational aspect of our culture and economy. Roads are socialized & ran
by government, therefore are accessible to all citizens. All I need today is a little bit of softball and a whole lot of Jesus shirt
You don't share
ownership of privately owned land, therefore you're not entitled to it's use.We
can wax poetic/virtue signal about how housing is a human right to make
ourselves feel nice, but the only ones here who have stated clearly what form
that would take are the actual socialists who decry private property of any kinUhm, that’s not how real estate
works. Edit: I like AOC, I like her intentions, but plenty of the statements in
that video are naive, uninformed, and made by people who clearly don’t
understand how things work. I agree that there should be incentives for
builders to make housing affordable to low-income people, but no one deserves
to live in Manhattan, for example. If you can’t afford it, I guess you have to
move to Queens.I support Bernie Sanders, but I don’t like what he said about
gentrification. It’s all supply/demand. It’s better to look at why these people
can’t afford to live where they want and create betteremployment/educational
opportunities. I would like to think I’m somewhat of an idealist, and I think
it’s easy to get caught up in supporting something that sounds so righteous, so
fair, and ignore the true cause of the issue.
