Firearms may exacerbate the systemic violence but they arent the
root cause of it as shown by other countries with similar per capita ownership
but little to no violence. Obviously I am referencing the Czech Republic and
Switzerland which arent directly comparable but there is something to be said
about those societies and their gun violence.Switzerland requires a permit to
carry but you need no such permit to own and the I’m not yelling I’m a Texas girl we just talk loud shirtCzech does require a license
but once you get said license you can pretty much own anything short of a
machine gun without the dumb Assualt weapons restricitons that states in the
Union have Also the Czech Republic has some of the best carry laws in the
world. So now what, do we need to do a background check on people before we
fire them and see if they have guns? If they do lead them to mental health
facilities, therapy, coping mechanism.Or maybe teach people getting fired isn't the end of the world
before hiring them, and making sure they realize this? The
biggest issue isn't guns, it's that more people nowadays dehumanize people they
don't like and justify physical violence.
